Advising Structure at KSU
Undergraduate academic advising is conducted via a decentralized structure:
- Students who know their intended major are advised in their college’s academic department.
- First-Year and undeclared students are advised in the Advising Office for New and Exploratory Students (the NEST).
Graduate academic advising is conducted via a decentralized structure by the Academic Program Coordinators. Graduate students should contact their home department for more information regarding advising.
DegreeWorks is a web-based tool that provides real-time advice on degree progression. This system is designed to aid and facilitate academic advising but is not intended to replace meeting with your advisor. For more information, please click here.
Advising Office for New, Exploratory, and Students in Transition (the N.E.S.T.)
The Advising Office for New, Exploratory, and Students in Transition (the NEST) is the primary advising resource for students at Kennesaw State who have not yet chosen a major, as well as those who are considering a change of major. The NEST is also a secondary advising resource for those students who have a declared major but need assistance with general education requirements or university policies.
Online Students should consult with their academic advisor and/or the NEST with questions or concerns regarding academic issues, course registration, and assistance with choosing an appropriate program of study.
